SOMERSET, NJ - The Northeast Conference named St. Francis Brooklyn's Martin Palinic its Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week on Monday. This is the first time Palinic has received the honor and he is the second Terrier (Caleb Danquah) to be named Rookie of the Week this season.
Palinic scored his third goal of the season against Howard in the season opener; benefiting from an efficient passing sequence by Sokol Ymeraj and Ramchwy Saint Vil for an open look on net. His smooth finish gave the Terriers a 4-0 lead at the time, and the Terriers went to win, 6-0.
The Melbourne, Australia native was credited with an assist earlier in the match after his shot on goal set up Badr Mesrar's first goal of the season. He also drew a penalty in the box that led to an Ymeraj penalty goal.
Palinic and the Terriers return to action against Stonehill on Oct. 29.
