BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY - Head coach Tom Giovatto announced the St. Francis Brooklyn men's soccer schedule for the 2022 season.
"Off of an incredible season that left us hungry for greater success, I am eager for our team to take the field for the 2022 slate," said Giovatto.
St. Francis returns to action after earning a share of the 2021 Northeast Conference (NEC) regular-season championship and making a second consecutive appearance in the NEC Tournament Championship.
Giovatto and the 2021 NEC Coaching Staff of the Year will lead the team through a 17-game schedule that begins Aug. 25 when the Terriers travel to UMass Lowell. After playing to a 1-1 draw in the 2021 season opener at Brooklyn Bridge Park, SFBK is looking for its first victory over the River Hawks since 2015.
The Terriers play their home opener on Aug. 29 at 3:00 p.m. against La Salle, as St. Francis looks to maintain its all-time series advantage over the Explorers.
SFBK takes a Maryland road trip during the first weekend of September as they face UMBC (Sept. 2) and Navy (Sept. 4). The squad returns to action in the Metro on Sept. 10 against Saint Peter's in Jersey City.
A three-game homestand kicks off Sept. 13 against Lafayette, before Brown (Sept. 18) and Howard (Sept. 25) come to Pier Five at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
St. Francis makes its first trip to Easton, Mass. Sept. 29 to face Stonehill - the Terriers' newest NEC opponent. They round out their non-conference schedule on Oct. 4 when they host Pratt Institute.
The Terriers hit the road for their longest NEC road trip of the season next, as they face Merrimack (Oct. 9), Sacred Heart (Oct. 13), and Saint Francis (PA) (Oct. 16).
They close out the regular season with another three-game homestand as FDU (Oct. 23), Central Connecticut State (Oct. 30) and LIU (Nov. 3) make their way to Brooklyn Heights ahead of the NEC Tournament.
