ANNAPOLIS, Mary. - The St. Francis Brooklyn men's soccer team made its first trip to United States Naval Academy on Sunday evening, facing the Midshipmen to close out a Maryland road trip.
After looking bound for a 2-1 defeat, freshman Caleb Danquah scored the Terriers second goal to clinch the draw on the road.
HOW IT HAPPENED
St. Francis earned a corner in the fourth minute of play and Jaydon Humphries delivered a perfectly placed ball to Martin Palinic's head who floated it over the head of the Navy keeper.
That 1-0 lead would only last around five minutes as Navy's Baba Kallie scored the equalizer in the ninth minute. The Midshipmen would take their lead in the 29th minute with a numbers advantage, as Kallie slipped the ball to Kevin Hileman for his first goal of the season.
Terriers goalkeeper Alec McLachlan, making his first collegiate start, fended off a pair of point blank chances by Navy in the final two minutes to keep the scoreline at 2-1 heading to halftime.
Neither team put a shot on goal in the second half as the clock rolled in to the final ten minutes of the match. The Terriers made a run towards goal in the 83rd minute, as Khaled Abdella found Caleb Danquah streaking down the right wing. Danquah entered the 18-yard box and fired a shot through a host of Navy defenders that deflected off one and past the keeper to steal a draw with seven minutes remaining.

Palinic's goal is his second of the weekend and second of his collegiate career.
