Men’s Golf Opens Spring Slate at Lonnie Barton Invitational

DAYTONA BEACH, FL – The St. Francis Brooklyn men's golf team opened up its 2019 spring schedule as it competed in the Lonnie Barton Invitational at the LPGA International Hills Course in Daytona Beach, FL.
 
The event teed-off on Tuesday and competition wrapped up on Wednesday afternoon. The Terriers finished in 21st-place over the course of the two-event, which featured eight of the nine NEC teams that sponsor men's golf. The lone NEC team that did not compete was Robert Morris.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
Nick Nemergut | T90 | 165 (+21)
Nemergut finished tied for 90th in the event as he shot a 165 (+21) over the two days of the competition. On day one, he shot an 83 (+11) and then followed up on day two by recording an 82 (+10).
 
Alex Lising-White | T93 | 166 (+22)
Lising-White wrapped up the two-day event tied for 93rd and was just one stroke behind Nemergut. He opened the event by shooting an 85 (+13), and then went on to register a mark of 81 (+9).
 
Hayden Meeker | T116 | 174 (+30)
Meeker tied for 116th in his first action of the spring season. He carded an 88 (+16) in the first round and then tallied an 86 (+14) in the second.
 
UP NEXT:
The Terriers remain in the Sunshine State to take part in the Gary Freeman Invitational hosted by Bethune Cookman. Competition begins on Thursday, March 7, and concludes the following day on Friday, March 8, at the LPGA International Course in Daytona Beach.
