Men’s Golf Garners GCAA 2019-20 Team Academic Honors

NORMAN, OK – The St. Francis College Brooklyn men's golf team has earned the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) Team Academic Award as announced by the organization on Thursday. The Terriers were one of 95 teams to record Presidents Special Recognition Honors for finishing with a team GPA of 3.5 or higher.
 
St. Francis posted a stellar 3.75 GPA during the 2019-20 academic year, which included a department-high 3.89 GPA during the Spring semester. The Terriers' academic prowess earned them the St. Francis Male Director's Award for the highest team GPA in 2019-20 as well as the NEC Team GPA award in the sport of men's golf.
 
Six Terriers were named to the NEC Spring Honor Roll for tallying a GPA of 3.20 or higher, while five of those student-athletes earned NEC Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition for achieving a GPA of 3.75 or higher.
 
A total of 250 teams took home GCAA Team Academic honors for earning over a 3.0 GPA. The Terriers were one of just two NEC teams to be recognized by the GCAA for academic excellence this year. Sacred Heart joined St. Francis on the list as the Pioneers also claimed Presidents Special Recognition Honors.
