NEW BRITAIN, CT – The St. Francis College Brooklyn men's and women's cross country teams competed in the CCSU-Mini Meet at Stanley Quarter Park on Friday afternoon in New Britain, CT.
The meet was hosted by Central Connecticut State University at the same site as the 2019 Northeast Conference (NEC) Cross Country Championships which are held on Saturday, November 2.
Junior
Leah Rivers crossed the finish line with a time of 11.15.0 in her 3K race. The Derby, CT native would average a 6:03 mile. Freshman
Maria Grijalva finished with a time of 12:07.1. Freshman
Carol Nieves finished with a time of 12:24.2, right behind Grijalva for the third-best finish on the Terriers.
Senior
Pratheip Gugendiran led the Terriers with a 5K time of 16:16.1 and came in 59
th-place. Behind Gugendiran was freshman
Noor Tayeh who crossed the finish line with a final time of 17:34.0.
Fergus MacDonnell had the third-best finish for St. Francis as he recorded a time of 18:05.0.

The Terriers are in action next Saturday, November 2, when they head back to Stanley Quarter Park in New Britain, CT for the 2019 NEC Cross Country Championships. The men run an 8K, which begins at 11 a.m., while the women run a 5K race at noon.
