BRONX, NY – The St. Francis Brooklyn men's and women's cross country teams, participated in its second meet of the season in the Dr. Paddy Doyle Meet of Champions at Van Cortlandt Park. Iona College hosted the meet, which saw a total of 29 teams (men's and women's) compete on Friday morning.
On the men's side, the Terriers finished in 11
th place amongst the participating Division I institutions in the 8k race. Freshman
Jason Cousineau recorded the best time for the Terriers as he finished in 62
nd with a time of 27:23.4. Cousineau averaged a mile time of 5:30.6.
Junior
Orville Dixon Jr. notched the second-best mark for the Terriers' men's squad as he finished with a time of 27:58.8. Sophomore Zack Faljean followed Dixon at the finish line at 28:52.2.
The Terriers' women's team also finished in 11th place amongst Division I institutions in the 5k event. Junior
Leah Rivers led St. Francis Brooklyn as she crossed the finish line in 21:16.8 and averaged a mile time of 6:50.9.
Senior
Diondra Bryant placed behind Rivers with a mark of 22:14.5. Sophomore
Noelle Weyer recorded a time of 25:22.4 in the 5k.
