Cross Country Competes at CCSU Ted Owen Invitational

NEW BRITAIN, Conn. - The St. Francis Brooklyn men's and women's cross country teams were among 13 teams to compete at the Ted Owen Invitational on Friday, hosted by Central Connecticut State.

The Terriers men registered 12th place in the annual event, with the women post individual times.

Five men represented SFBK in Saturday's race; led by newcomer Lance Hubert with a 28:37 time. He was the lone Terrier in the top half of the finishing order. Josmy Cerda paced the remainder of the Terriers on the course with a 32:49 time. They finished in successive order; save one New Haven runner splitting the pack.

The four St. Francis women's runners were led again by transfer Viola Alisch; finishing with a 20:54. Alisch outpaced her nearest teammate, Carol Nieves (21:45), by nearly a minute.

Full results are available through Northeast Sports Timing Service

NEXT UP: Both teams are set to compete at the Highlander Challenger, hosted by NJIT, on Oct. 8.
