The Terriers (11-7, 3-2 NEC) are back in action on Monday afternoon as they take on local rival LIU Brooklyn (9-8, 3-2 NEC) at 3 p.m. on ESPN3 in a Martin Luther King Day special. St. Francis Brooklyn is winners of two games in a row as it defeated Saint Francis (PA) on January 12 and is coming off a thrilling victory over Sacred Heart on Saturday. Chauncey Hawkins. LIU Brooklyn enters the contests on a two-game winning streak and has won three out of its last four contests. The Blackbirds defeated Fairleigh Dickinson, 79-77, on Saturday in a game that came down to the final buzzer.
ALL-TIME SERIES:
LIU Brooklyn leads the Terriers 68-42 in the all-time series, which dates back to 1928. Last season, the Terriers went 1-2 against LIU Brooklyn with their win coming at the Pope on February 15. St. Francis Brooklyn fell to LIU Brooklyn in both meetings at the Steinberg Center. The Blackbirds came out on top on February 22, and then knocked off the Terriers in the opening round of the NEC Tournament a week later on February 28. In three games last season against LIU,
Jalen Jordan averaged 9.3 points per game on 42.9 percent shooting from the field.
Glenn Sanabria added 8.0 points and 4.3 rebounds per game against the Blackbirds in 2017-18. St. Francis Brooklyn is searching for its first road win against LIU Brooklyn since January 23, 2016. The Terriers are 6-12 against the Blackbirds under head coach

SCOUTING THE BLACKBIRDS:
LIU Brooklyn enters the Monday afternoon contest on a two-game winning streak and are one of five teams in the league that currently have a 3-2 mark in conference play. The Blackbirds have a trio of players scoring in double figures with Raiquan Clark leading the way with 21.3 points per contest. His 21.3 points per game lead the NEC, and he ranks 21st in the nation in scoring average. Ty Flowers is averaging 13.5 points and has tallied a team-best 7.2 rebounds per game for the Blackbirds this season. The last of the trio in double figures is Jashaun Agosto who has registered 10.9 points per game. As a team, LIU is scoring 75.5 points per game and is shooting 43.9 percent from the field.
LAST TIME OUT:
St. Francis Brooklyn picked up its NEC leading 11th win of the season on Saturday as it defeated Sacred Heart (7-11, 3-2 NEC), 92-85. With the win, the Terriers improved to 7-1 this season at the Pope Physical Education Center. The Terriers came out victorious in a high scoring contest, which saw them go over the 90-point plateau for the fourth time this season. The 92 points are the most against an NEC opponent since they also scored 92 points in a win over Sacred Heart at the Pope Physical Education Center on March 2, 2013.
TRAVELING TERRIERS:
The Terriers are 4-5 in nine road game this season and won three-straight road contests (Nov. 18-28) before falling at NJIT on December 8. With the four wins on the road, the Terriers have already surpassed their 2017-18 total. The four road victories are the most for the Terriers since the 2015-16 season when they posted six wins away from the Pope Physical Education Center. The Terriers are tied with LIU Brooklyn, and Central Connecticut for the most road wins in the league.
DEFENDING THE ARC:
The Terriers have been one of the toughest teams in the nation to shoot the three-ball against. Opponents are shooting just 28.6 percent from deep, which is tied with Fresno State for the 12th-lowest mark in the NCAA. The Terriers have held teams to under 30.0 percent shooting from behind the arc in five of their last six games. Over the six-game stretch, teams are shooting 19-of-85 (22.4 percent) from deep against the Terriers.
NEC RANKINGS:
The Terriers have allowed the third-fewest points per game (69.7 ppg), and have the second-best scoring margin (+1.9) in the NEC this season. St. Francis Brooklyn is tied for the second-toughest team in the conference to shoot against, opposing teams are just shooting 42.8 percent from the field against the Terriers. Opposing teams are shooting only 28.6 percent from behind the arc which is the lowest mark in the conference. St. Francis Brooklyn is the third-best rebounding team (38.2 rpg) and have the fifth-best rebounding margin (+0.5) in the league. The Terriers are the third-best defensive rebounding team in the conference averaging 26.7 per game. As a team, the Terriers are blocking 4.4 shots per game and have swatted away 79 shots. Jalen Jordan ranks fifth in the NEC in scoring (16.3 ppg) and is the only sophomore ranked in the top five of the conference. Sanabria (12.5 ppg) ranks 19th, and Hawkins (11.3 ppg) ranks tied for 22nd in the league in scoring. Jordan is shooting 44.6 percent from three, which is the best mark in the league. He has knocked down 54 threes and is averaging 3.0 makes from threes per game. Jordan is second in the league in made threes per game and second in total three-pointers.
Christian Rohlehr is fourth in the NEC in blocks per game (1.33) and fifth in total blocks (20).
NON-CONFERENCE NOTABLES:
The eight non-conference wins were the most for the Terriers since they posted nine during the 2013-14 season. The Terriers went 5-0 at home during non-conference play. St. Francis Brooklyn recorded the most non-conference wins in the NEC, the most home wins (five), were tied for the most road wins (three), had the most wins by 10 or more points (five), and were the only team over .500. The Terriers were on a three-game winning streak from November 24 to December 3. It was the longest winning streak for the Terriers since they won four-straight (Feb. 18-27) to close out the 2015-16 season.

Glenn Sanabria scored his 1,000th career point in a win over Niagara on November 24. Sanabria became the 32nd player to join the Terriers' 1,000-point club and the first since Brent Jones did so on February 5, 2015, against Central Connecticut. He currently is in 16th place on the Terriers' all-time scoring list with 1,167 points after he surpassed current assistant coach
Jamaal Womack who had 1,153 career points. Sanabria is chasing Robert Jackson in 15th-place with 1,243 career points.
TERRIERS COACHING RECORDS:
St. Francis Brooklyn men's basketball head coach
Glenn Braica passed Rody Cooney for third place on the program's all-time wins list for victories by a head coach. Braica has compiled 126 wins over his nine seasons on Remsen Street. Braica is just one of four Terriers' head coaches to win over 100 games in their career.
NEC COACHING VETERANS:
Head coach
Glenn Braica and Robert Morris' head coach Andrew Toole are the two longest-tenured head coaches in the NEC as they both took over their respective programs before the 2010-11 season. Toole is the active leader for wins at an NEC institution with 159, Braica is right behind Toole in second with 125. LIU Brooklyn's Derek Kellogg has the most career wins of any coach in the NEC with 182 (nine years at UMass, two years at LIU Brooklyn).
TERRIERS INK QUARTLEBAUM:
On November 16, St. Francis Brooklyn men's basketball announced the signing of Trey Quartlebaum. Quartlebaum is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound guard from Lawrence, KS and attends Lawrence High School. He is originally from Dobbs Ferry, NY and plays AAU ball for KC Run GMC. The guard averaged 13.0 points per game during his junior year at Lawrence and was a Kansas 6A All-State Honorable Mention.
