Men’s Hoops Falls at Richmond on Wednesday

RICHMOND, VA – The St. Francis Brooklyn men's basketball team (1-2) fell to Richmond (1-1), 88-66, on Wednesday afternoon at the Robins Center in Richmond, VA. The meeting between the Terriers and Spiders marked the second between the programs in history. They last met in the opening round of the 2015 NIT.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
St. Francis Brooklyn – 66 | Richmond – 88
  • The Terriers received a career-high tying performance from junior guard Rosel Hurley. The junior tied for the team-high with 14 points on 6-of-10 shooting from the field and pulled down six rebounds in 22 minutes of play in his third-straight start to begin the season.
  • Graduate guard Glenn Sanabria finished with a season-high tying 14 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the floor. He recorded six rebounds, which was one shy of tying a career-high, and dished out three assists. Sanabria increased his career points total to 982.
  • Sophomore guard Jalen Jordan totaled 14 points on 5-of-13 shooting. Jordan has scored in double figures in each of the Terriers first three games this season. He also pulled down two rebounds and swiped a steal in 30 minutes of play.
  • Sophomore forward Yaradyah Evans scored a career-high eight points on 2-of-5 shooting from the field (all his attempts came from behind the arc). He also registered a career-high tying six rebounds. Evans scored all eight of his points in the first half as he shot a perfect 2-of-2 from three-point range.
  • As a team, the Terriers shot 39.1 percent from the field, 31.0 percent from three, and 87.5 percent from the free-throw line. The Terriers made nine threes (five in the first half, four in the second half).
  • The Spiders had a pair of student-athletes score in double figures. Nick Sherod tallied a game-high 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field. Grant Golden finished with 20 points on 9-of -12 shooting. 
UP NEXT:
The Terriers are back in action on Sunday, November 18, when they take on Lafayette at 2 p.m. in Easton, PA. The teams are set to meet for the first time since December 5, 2016. The Terriers were last victorious against the Leopards on December 2, 2015, by a score of 69-62.
