The Terriers (9-7, 1-2 NEC) host Saint Francis (PA) (6-8, 2-1 NEC) on Saturday, January 12, at 4 p.m. St. Francis Brooklyn is coming off of its first home defeat of the season as it was topped by Robert Morris, 52-49, on Thursday night to snap a seven-game home winning streak. The home loss was the first for the Terriers since February 10, 2018. The Red Flash come into the contest winners of three out of their last four games. Saint Francis (PA) picked up a victory in its last time out, a 74-67, win over LIU Brooklyn. The Red Flash were selected as the favorites in the 2018-19 NEC Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released on NEC Social Media Day in October.
 
ALL-TIME SERIES:
St. Francis Brooklyn is (38-43) all-time against Saint Francis (PA), the teams are set to meet for the 82nd time in history. Last season, the Red Flash picked up wins in both games against the Terriers. The Terriers were edged in a high-scoring affair, 91-87, on January 4, 2018, in Loretto, PA. Jalen Jordan scored 22 points on 6-of-17 shooting from the floor and went 4-of-12 from three-point range. Glenn Sanabria filled the stat sheet for the Terriers as he poured in 15 points on an almost perfect 6-of-7 shooting from the field. He dished out five assists, swiped three steals, and grabbed a pair of rebounds in 32 minutes of action. The Red Flash took the second game of the series in Brooklyn Heights, 90-65. Jordan scored a team-high 10 points for the Terriers. Coach Braica is 9-6 against Saint Francis (PA) and 5-3 at the Pope.  
 
SCOUTING THE RED FLASH:
The Red Flash are one of four teams in the NEC sitting at 2-1 through the first three games of league play. They have secured conference wins over Mount and LIU Brooklyn and closed out non-league play with a win over Lehigh on December 22. Saint Francis (PA) has been paced by a trio scoring in double figures. Keith Braxton leads the way with 15.4 points per game and has pulled down 10.5 rebounds per game, which leads the league. Jamaal King is second on the team in scoring as he has registered 14.2 points per contest in 14 games this season. Isaiah Blackmon averages 11.1 points per game as he's played in 13 games and made five starts. As a team, the Red Flash are scoring 75.9 points per game but have also surrendered 78.4 points per contest. They are the second-high scoring team in the league and give up the third-most points.
 
LAST TIME OUT:
The Terriers were defeated by Robert Morris (8-8, 3-0 NEC), 52-49, on Thursday night. The defeat marked the Terriers first of the season on their home court as they are now 5-1 at the Pope Physical Education Center. The first half saw defense at the forefront as the teams went into the halftime with the Terriers leading, 25-18. St. Francis Brooklyn limited Robert Morris to just 22.6 percent shooting from the field and 22.2 percent shooting from three in the first half of play. After a slow shooting start for Robert Morris, the Terriers began to mount a lead. Robert Morris found its way right back into the contest by going on a 10-run that lasted nearly four minutes. With 37 seconds to play in the game, junior forward Deniz Celen was called for an offensive foul, which put the ball back in the Colonials' hands. Robert Morris made it a three-point game as Charles Bain knocked down a pair of free-throws. Robert Morris held on to secure a 52-49 win and their league-leading third conference win of the season.
 
HOME COOKIN':
St. Francis Brooklyn is 5-1 at home this season. Last season the Terriers posted an impressive 10-3 record on their home court. They went 3-1 at home during non-conference play and 7-2 during their league slate. Since the start of the 2017-18 season, the Terriers are 15-4 at the Pope. The 10 home wins last season were the most for the Terriers since they recorded 13 in 2014-15.
 
NCAA NET RANKINGS:
St. Francis Brooklyn ranks 243rd and fourth among NEC members in the latest NCAA NET rankings (Jan. 10, 2019). The Terriers are behind Fairleigh Dickinson (210), Wagner (211), and LIU Brooklyn (233). The NCAA Evaluation Tool, which will be known as the NET, relies on game result, strength of schedule, game location, scoring margin, net offensive, and defensive efficiency, and the quality of wins and losses.
 
NEC RANKINGS:
The Terriers have allowed the second-fewest points per game 68.8 ppg), and have the third-best scoring margin (+1.4) in the NEC this season. St. Francis Brooklyn is tied for the second-toughest team in the conference to shoot against, opposing teams are just shooting 43.0 percent from the field against the Terriers. Opposing teams are shooting only 28.2 percent from behind the arc which is the lowest mark in the conference. St. Francis Brooklyn is the fifth-best rebounding team (38.1 rpg) and have the fifth-best rebounding margin (+0.1) in the league. The Terriers are the third-best defensive rebounding team in the conference averaging 27.0 per game. As a team, the Terriers are blocking 4.3 shots per game and have swatted away 68 shots. They are tied for the league-lead in blocks and second in the league in blocks per game. They've made the third-most threes per game (8.3) and have the most makes from deep in the league (132).
 
Jalen Jordan ranks sixth in the NEC in scoring (15.9 ppg) and is the only sophomore ranked in the top 10 of the conference. Sanabria (11.9 ppg) ranks 21st and Hawkins (11.1 ppg) ranks 24th in the league in scoring. Jordan is shooting 45.5 percent from three, which is the best mark in the league. He has knocked down 50 threes and is averaging 3.1 makes from threes per game. Jordan is second in the league in made threes per game and second in total three-pointers. Christian Rohlehr is fourth in the NEC in blocks per game (1.3) and tied for third in total blocks (20).
 
NON-CONFERENCE NOTABLES:
The eight non-conference wins were the most for the Terriers since they posted nine during the 2013-14 season. The Terriers went 5-0 at home during non-conference play. St. Francis Brooklyn recorded the most non-conference wins in the NEC, the most home wins (five), were tied for the most road wins (three), had the most wins by 10 or more points (five), and were the only team over .500. The Terriers were on a three-game winning streak from November 24 to December 3. It was the longest winning streak for the Terriers since they won four-straight (Feb. 18-27) to close out the 2015-16 season.
 
GS1K:
Graduate guard Glenn Sanabria scored his 1,000th career point in a win over Niagara on November 24. Sanabria became the 32nd player to join the Terriers' 1,000-point club and the first since Brent Jones did so on February 5, 2015, against Central Connecticut. He currently is in 19th place on the Terriers' all-time scoring list with 1,132 points after he surpassed Hank Daubenschmidt who had 1,129 career points. Sanabria is chasing former teammate Brent Jones in 18th-place with 1,142 career points.
 
TERRIERS COACHING RECORDS:
St. Francis Brooklyn men's basketball head coach Glenn Braica passed Rody Cooney for third place on the program's all-time wins list for victories by a head coach. Braica has compiled 124 wins over his nine seasons on Remsen Street. Braica is just one of four Terriers' head coaches to win over 100 games in their career.
 
NEC COACHING VETERANS:
Head coach Glenn Braica and Robert Morris' head coach Andrew Toole are the two longest-tenured head coaches in the NEC as they both took over their respective programs before the 2010-11 season. Toole is the active leader for wins at an NEC institution with 158, Braica is right behind Toole in second with 124. LIU Brooklyn's Derek Kellogg has the most career wins of any coach in the NEC with 180 (nine years at UMass, two years at LIU Brooklyn).
 
TERRIERS INK QUARTLEBAUM:
On November 16, St. Francis Brooklyn men's basketball announced the signing of Trey Quartlebaum. Quartlebaum is a 6-foot-1, 170-pound guard from Lawrence, KS and attends Lawrence High School. He is originally from Dobbs Ferry, NY and plays AAU ball for KC Run GMC. The guard averaged 13.0 points per game during his junior year at Lawrence and was a Kansas 6A All-State Honorable Mention.
