Jalen Jordan Tabbed NEC & College Sports Madness Player of the Week

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – St. Francis Brooklyn men's basketball sophomore guard Jalen Jordan was tabbed the Northeast Conference (NEC) and College Sports Madness (CSM) NEC Player of the Week.

Jordan is the first Terrier to take home the NEC Player of the Week award since Jalen Cannon, the program's all-time leading scorer and rebounder, claimed the honor on February 23, 2015.

The sophomore paced the Terriers with 21.0 points per game over the course of a 2-0 week. The Terriers started the week with a gritty win over UMass Lowell on Tuesday. Jordan led the Terriers with 21 points on 7-of-14 shooting from the field and knocked down 4-of-10 from three.

He followed the performance up with another 21-point outing on Saturday in a win over Saint Peter's. Jordan went 5-of-11 from the field and 5-of-8 from three. He knocked down a big-time three-ball from well behind the arc to cut the Saint Peter's lead to just one point with 1:40 to play. The guard scored 13 of his 21 points in the second half of play.

The 20-plus point outing marked the fourth time this season that he scored 20 or more points in a game. For the week he shot 48.0 percent from the field and converted nine threes on 9-of-18 shooting (50%).

Jordan also earned the College Sports Madness Player of the Week honor after leading the Terriers to back-to-back non-conference wins. College Sports Madness identifies the players who have had the greatest impact to their team from each conference and on a national basis each Monday.

Graduate guard Glenn Sanabria was named an NEC Prime Performer after he averaged 19.0 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. He dropped a season-high 21 points against the River Hawks on Tuesday. Sanabria now has 1,066 points in his career, two shy of tying Gil Radday for 27th on the school's all-time scoring list.

The Terriers are back in action on Wednesday, December 19, when they take a short trip over to Carnesecca Arena in Queens for a matchup with local foe St. John's at 6:30 p.m.
