BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY - St. Francis Brooklyn men's basketball head coach Glenn Braica announced the schedule for the 2022-23 season on Tuesday. This season is set to be a special time at Daniel Lynch '38 Gymnasium as St. Francis honors 51 years of memories on Remsen Street.
Braica's thirteenth season at St. Francis features a competitive 12-game non-conference slate, highlighted by a battle with Saint Peter's, fresh off a trip to the Elite Eight, and road trips to Minnesota, Miami, and the University of South Florida (USF) to kick off the year. The Terriers open their Northeast Conference (NEC) schedule on Dec. 31.
"This schedule presents great opportunities to challenge our guys," said Braica. "Our goal is to get better day in and day out and we believe our non-conference match-ups will make our team tougher in preparation for NEC play."
The 2022-23 season kicks off Nov. 7 as the Terriers face Mount Saint Mary College in the nightcap of a men's/women's doubleheader. Tip-off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. at Lynch '38 Gymnasium.
The Terriers then head on a Twin Cities road trip; taking on Minnesota on Nov. 11 and taking on St. Thomas on Nov. 13.
St. Francis returns to Brooklyn for "Legends of Remsen Weekend" as Saint Peter's comes to Lynch '38 Gymnasium on Nov. 19 off the schools' first trip to the Elite Eight. The Terriers will look for their second consecutive win over the Peacocks at 2:00 p.m.
The "Legends of Remsen Street" will be honored after Saturday's game at a dinner to be held in the Genovesi Center featuring a buffet, cocktails and a night of honoring the best of St. Francis Brooklyn Athletics. Tickets are on sale now for the historic event.
Coach Braica's squad hits the road again for a Sunshine State swing as they face Miami on Nov. 23 before traveling to USF on Nov. 25.
The non-conference slate continues on Nov. 30 as Delaware State comes to Brooklyn after the Terriers traveled to the Hornets last season. Hartford makes its first trip to Brooklyn this season on Dec. 6.
St. Francis makes its first trip to the Tsongas Center to face UMass Lowell on Dec. 10, before returning to Brooklyn to face Longwood on Dec. 13.
The Terriers return to New England to face Hartford in Connecticut before taking on Medgar Evers at home on Dec. 22. They close out non-conference play with a third contest against the Hartford Hawks on Jan. 10, 2023.
The 16-game Northeast Conference double round-robin slate begins on Dec. 31 in New Britain against Central Connecticut State. The Terriers will open with three of their first five NEC contests at home.
St. Francis will host the Battle of Brooklyn against LIU on Jan. 28 and play five of their final eight conference match-up at home.
