Koo Named NEC Women's Tennis Rookie of the Week

St. Francis Brooklyn freshman Jean-na Koo was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on Tuesday by the league office.

Koo comes off a perfect 3-0 week in singles action as the Terriers made it three wins in four matches heading into NEC Tournament play.

Koo, who hails from Lewisville, TX, posted a 6-0, 6-0 win competing at the #2 spot in SFBK's 5-1 win over UMES on Wednesday, then came back the following afternoon to record a 4-6, 6-1, 6-4 victory at the #3 flight in the Terriers' 5-2 conquest of Rider. She won her second straight three-setter on Saturday, taking down Fairfield's Anna Komer, 6-0, 1-6, 6-1. Koo, who was also victorious in all three of her doubles matches last week, improved to 12-6 in singles this season, highlighted by a 7-1 mark at the #2 position.
