Box Score Bronx, NY- The St. Francis College Women's Soccer team drew a 2-2 tie on Thursday evening with the Fordham Rams of the A10 Conference.
The Terriers and Rams alternated finding the back of the net all within the first 43 minutes of the match.
The first tally on the board went to SFC at the 32:15 mark. Terrier forward
Lauren Schultz sent a through ball behind the Fordham back line directly into the path of Junior
Hailey Russell who only needed two touches before slotting the ball past Serena Mensah in net for Fordham.
The Rams responded a mere two and a half minutes later with a goal by Milan Bornstein at the 34:48 mark.
It only took six minutes for the Terriers to regain the lead. A ball played out by the Rams defense landed on the foot of Co-Captain
Sarah Dewitt, who made a move past a Rams defender and drilled a shot to the top right corner from 25 yards out. The Terriers took a 2-1 lead with the clock at 40:45.
Less than 3 minutes later Fordham striker Kristen Cocozza beat the back line of the Terriers and slipped one into the net off her left foot.
The second half saw an even run of play, but Terrier goalkeeper
Klil Keshwar and Rams netminder Maria O'Sullivan (replaced Mensah to start the second half) kept the goal scoring at bay.
Jenna Devine saw the only yellow card for the Rams in the 61st minute.
Barbara Zagonyi was booked with a yellow for the Terriers in the 105th minute.
Keshwar recorded 11 saves in net.
After a set of 10 minute overtime periods, the scoreboard read 2-2. The Terriers earned their third consecutive tie, making their current season record 1-2-3.
The Terriers travel to Binghamton on Sunday September 12th. Kickoff is set for 12pm.
