BRIDGEPORT, PA – The St. Francis College Brooklyn men's and women's water polo teams have earned Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) academic honors as announced by the organization. The women's team had 13 student-athletes receive Scholar-Athlete accolades, while the men's team had a total of 14 student-athletes take home Scholar-Athlete recognition. Additionally, both teams received team academic awards for tallying cumulative GPAs of above a 3.0.
To qualify for ACWPC Scholar-Athlete honors, students must maintain a 3.20 GPA or higher. The Scholar-Athlete awards are broken up into three sections based on GPA, Outstanding (4.0-3.71), Superior (3.70-3.41), and Excellent (3.40-3.20).
Additionally, St. Francis also received Team Academic awards for registering collective GPAs over 3.0. The women's team recorded a cumulative GPA of 3.40 in 2020-21, while the men's team posted a 3.59 GPA, which was the eighth-highest mark in the nation amongst men's teams.
