160/50: Honoring Terrier Excellence

As 2018 winds down, The Terrier Athletic Department and St. Francis College look forward to 2019, which will commemorate the 160th year of formal education at our Franciscan institution. The 2019 Calendar year has added historical value; as it is the 50th year Women have been enrolled in classes, programs and activities sponsored by SFC.

Throughout this Calendar year, we will celebrate our 50th Anniversary of Educating Women through Golden Jubilee ceremonies, events and activities across our St. Francis College community.

Here in Athletics, we look to Honor Terrier Excellence and celebrate our female Terrier Alumnae and their achievements both on and off the fields of competition. The legacy created by the women who have proudly worn and supported the Terrier Red and Blue continues to be built upon by our current student-athletes coaches and staff today. We take this time to celebrate and honor the commitment of these trailblazing women and reflect back on the memories that set the foundation for where we are today.

Last weekend, we were able to set the tone for our 160/50 celebrations with the historic event as we retired our first ever Women's Basketball Jersey for #15, Jeanne Zatorski ('79). One line that stands out from her speech; and one that sets the tone for our celebrations to come is simple, yet inspiring. "When you are in the middle of something, you never understand the legacy you might have in the future."

While in the middle of our Academic year but the start of our 160/50th celebrations, we take the time to reflect and honor these women and their stories.

As we continue our celebrations in the upcoming year, we want to hear your memories, your stories and your legacy so that we can share it with those here now, and those that are to come.

Below are some of the athletic events we are planning in the upcoming year to Honor Terrier Excellence through our female Athletic programs. We invite you to join us whenever possible and help us bridge the gap to bring our past to life today, so we can ignite the future.

To share your stories, memories and photos; we ask that you submit your information HERE
