BROOKLYN, NY – St. Francis Brooklyn women's basketball guard
Alyssa Fisher was named to the All-Metropolitan Third team on Tuesday afternoon, as announced by the Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association. The senior from Baton Rouge, Louisiana added another accolade to her stellar senior campaign and was one of just three players from the Northeast Conference to be recognized.
"I'm so proud of the amazing senior year Fisher had," head coach
Linda Cimino said. "An All-Met honor is a great accomplishment and she was certainly among the best in the New York City area. She had a tremendous 4-year career and gave so much to St. Francis Brooklyn, on and off the court."
Fisher enjoyed a career year, averaging 16.1 points per game while leading the team in three-pointers, field goals, free throws and steals. She scored in double figures 22 times, notching 20 or more points nine times.
Being named All-Met is unique in that there are 21 colleges and universities and more than 300 women's players under the MBWA Division I umbrella.
The 2022-23 All-Met teams will be honored at the 90th MBWA Haggerty Awards dinner on Thursday, April 27, at the Sleepy Hollow Hotel & Conference Center in Tarrytown, NY. The Haggerty dinner is the longest running, media-managed college basketball awards program in the United States.
