LEXINGTON, VA – Following the completion of Northeast Conference Championships, St. Francis Brooklyn men's and women's track and field returned to action at the ECAC/IC4A outdoor meet at George Mason University this weekend. The Terriers were led by sophomore Malachi Aiken, who breezed to a first-place finish in the triple jump and added a fourth-place result in the long jump.
Aiken's leap of 15.30 meters in the triple jump not only carried him to a win but locked him in a spot at the NCAA East Regional meet in Jacksonville next week. The mark was a season best as no other jumper reached the 15-meter mark. Duquesne's Cameron Mbalo came in second with a distance of 14.84 meters.
Prior to winning the triple jump, Aiken took fourth in the long jump with a distance of 7.21 meters.
Other top finishers on the weekend include Renaldo Alleyne-Noreiga (7th in the 100-meter, 10.74 seconds), Armani Dunkley (16th in the long jump, 5.43 meters, 15th in the high jump, 1.58 meters), Tolulope Atolagbe (10th in the triple jump, 11.95 meters, 19th in the long jump, 5.35 meters), Christina Rene (11th in the 400-meter, 57.01) and Janee' Patterson (17th in the 400-meter hurdles, 1:04.29).
