Head Coach Kyle Brown is in his third season as coach of the Men’s & Women’s Cross Country and Track & Field squads. An accomplished runner himself, Brown still holds the record in the triple and long jump at Msgr. McClancy Memorial High School in Jackson Heights, New York.
He stands 3rd all-time in C.H.S.A.A. history in the triple jump while be recognized as a Hall of Famer from McClancy.
He continued his successful running at the collegiate level, competing for another Northeast Conference institution, Long Island University. While a member of the Blackbirds, Coach Brown set the conference record in the triple jump, which was recently surpassed and also making it to the All-East squad.
Prior to joining the St. Francis staff, Brown coached the track and field team at Bishop Ford High School in Brooklyn, the City Park Foundation Track Club, and both the basketball and track teams at St. Gabriel’s Elementary School in East Elmhurst, NY.
Below is a list of accomplishments that student-athletes have achieved while under Coach Brown’s tutelage at St. Francis:
· Women’s Long Jump record has been broken three times
· Women’s 100 meter hurdles freshman and new record set
· Men’s & Women’s Triple Jump record has also been broken three times
· Men’s High Jump school record was set last year while also placing 2nd at IC4A’s
· Achieved a school record in the men’s javelin toss
· 2 NCAA Regional Qualifiers
· Coached 3 Northeast Conference Champions in the High Jump, Javelin and Triple Jump events as a Head Coach and as an assistant.
