Colleen McConie

Colleen McConie joined the Terriers’ sports medicine department as an Assistant Athletic Trainer in August of 2019.
 
McConie is responsible for assisting the prevention, evaluation, treatment, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries and related illnesses for the departments’ approximately 300 student-athletes. She will work as St. Francis’ primary Athletic Trainer for the sports of women’s basketball and women’s soccer. McConie will also assist with the daily operation of the St. Francis’ Sports Medicine department.
  
McConie most recently served as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at LIU Post. She spent the 2018-19 academic year as the primary Athletic Trainer for the sports of field hockey, men’s lacrosse, and men’s and women’s cross country and track and field. Additionally, she provided secondary coverage for the women’s rugby, women’s basketball, volleyball, JV football, and women’s tennis.
 
Prior to being appointed an Assistant Athletic Trainer at LIU Post, McConie gained student clinical experience with LIU Post, St. Francis, and Mepham High School. As a student, she worked in conjunction with the LIU Post Athletic Training staff from August 2017 through May 2018.
 
McConie is no stranger to Brooklyn Heights as she spent time working alongside the Terriers’ Sports Medicine staff from December 2016 until May 2017. While working as a student with the Sports Medicine department, McConie provided coverage for the men’s basketball program.
 
In September 2016, McConie began her first student clinical role with Mepham High School. While working at Mepham, she was responsible for maintaining safe conditions, implementing injury prevention, assessing/evaluating injuries.
 
The Bayville, NY native earned her B.S. and M.S. in Athletic Training from LIU Brooklyn in 2018. She is a New York State certified Athletic Trainer, BOC Certified Athletic Trainer, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and a NATA member.
