Background: Jewell, a 6-2 wing from the Bronx, New York, averaged a division-high 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in his second season at Jamestown Community College (New York)... Following the campaign he was named the Region 3 Division II Player of the Year after scoring over 30 points on nine different occasions... Jewell shot 44.3 percent overall (212-of-479) from the field and connected on 39 percent (57-of-146) of his 3-point attempts...  He also made 70.6 percent (127-of-180) of his free-throw opportunities...He scored over 1,000 points in just two seasons at JCC...
