BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's water polo team (2-7, 0-1 MAAC) looks to get back in the win column, and closes out its non-conference slate at the La Salle Invite in Philadelphia.
The team has a busy weekend ahead of them, starting with matchups against Salem and Gannon on Saturday, followed by Mercyhurst and a rematch with Salem on Sunday.
The Terriers grabbed their first win of the season against Gannon on Jan. 30 by a margin of 14-10 at the Bucknell Invitational. Their last matchup with Salem was at the 2020 La Salle Invite, when the West Virginia school secured an 11-5 victory. Five of the scorers that day are still in the team, including Tate Renata, Emma Leto, Kirra Hemric, Najhe London and Erin Breakey.
LAST TIME OUT
The Terriers dropped a pair of games at the Courtney Fisher Invite against top 25 opponents Wagner and Marist. Goalkeepers Olivia Gallego Saez and Elsah Nijdam each made five saves in the 20-5 loss to Wagner.
In the matchup with Marist, SFBK's Sofia Kolovou found the back of the net a team high four times. The third period was the Terriers' strongest, as they won the quarter 3-2, but the game ended 21-8 in favor of Marist.
Saturday's first match is set to begin at 12 p.m., and the second will kick off at 4:30 p.m.
