Klil Keshwar Named to Trinidad and Tobago Women's National Team for CONCACAF World Cup Qualifying

This is the first time the Terriers' goalie has been called up to her home country's senior team.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, N.Y. - St. Francis Brooklyn women's soccer goalie Klil Keshwar is set to represent her home country on the international stage for the first time. 

Keshwar was called up to the Trinidad and Tobago Women's Senior Team for the first slate of games in the 2022 CONCACAF Women's Championship. The tournament will serve as the 2023 World Cup qualifiers for the nations in North, Central America and the Caribbean region. 

She was invited to training camp with Trinidad and Tobago's senior women's football team for the Caribbean Football Union World Cup Qualifiers for CONCACAF '18. She also made appearances for Trinidad and Tobago's U20 World Cup team and their U17 women's team that captured third-place in the Caribbean Football Union Women's U17 CONCACAF Qualifiers in Puerto Rico.

Additionally, Keshwar the starting keeper for Trinidad and Tobago's U15 Girls' team that earned third-place at the U15 CONCACAF Championships in 2014 on the Cayman Islands.

The junior netminder started all 19 games for the Terriers in the 2021 season and played every minute of those games. She recorded 115 saves in those 19 games, saving 78.67% of the shots on goal she faced, and held a 1.63 goals against average.

She led the Northeast Conference in saves last season.

She has been an outstanding representative of our women's soccer program since its inaugural season in 2019," said Director of Athletics, Irma Garcia. "We look forward to her continued success on the field at the international level."

Trinidad and Tobago will open play with a home match against Nicaragua on Feb. 17 at the Hasely Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain. The team will take the field again on Feb. 20 against Dominica, with the match played at the National Track and Field Centre in Leonora, Guyana.
