QUEENS, N.Y. - The St. Francis men's tennis team returned to action on Thursday afternoon; traveling to Flushing to take on St. John's at the USTA National Tennis Center.
The Red Storm was able to take the win over over the Terriers, 4-0.
In doubles action, the Terriers top duo, William Lindqvist Nilsson and Jan Godfrey Seno, were able to win a pair of games, but ultimately fell (6-2) to St. John's number one doubles team, Ignacio Garcia and Axel Vila Antuna. St. John's won the doubles point after Giuseppe De Camelis and Carl Gustavsson scored a 6-0 win against the Terriers' third doubles team, Matheus Paiva and Gustavo Pinho.
The Terriers showed fight in each of the three singles matches that played to a finish.
SFBK's number five, Luis Foix Sotos, won four games in each of the two sets he played against St. John's Vlad Vasilache. Vasilache would take the win, (6-4, 6-4), and take the point for the Red Storm.
Pinho and Gleb Mityurin, in the two and three spots respectively, each won two games in the their matches, but ultimately each fell, 6-2 6-2.
NEXT UP: The Terriers return to action with a doubleheader on Sunday; traveling to the Bronx to face Fordham before returning face Lafayette in their first home match of 2022.
