St. Francis College Brooklyn Men’s Water Polo Update

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – The St. Francis College Brooklyn Athletics Department has announced that the men's water polo team will forgo competition during the 2020-21 academic year. The decision was made to forgo competition in the sport of men's water polo after an extensive review of competitive options was conducted by the Athletics Department.

"Given the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic and the fact that several teams in the Northeast Water Polo Conference (NWPC) will not be competing, we have determined that it is in the best interest of our men's water polo program to forgo competition this academic year. The health, safety, and wellness of our student-athletes, coaches, and staff will always be our top priority as we strive to give our student-athletes a premier Division I experience. We are looking forward to the future and are excited about the team competing in seasons ahead," said Director of Athletics Irma Garcia.

St. Francis College, founded in 1859 by the Franciscan Brothers of Brooklyn, is located in Brooklyn, N.Y. Since its founding, the College has pursued its Franciscan mission to provide an affordable, high-quality education to students from New York City's five boroughs and beyond.
