SMYRNA, TN - The St. Francis Brooklyn women's bowling team began play at the Music City Classic, hosted by Vanderbilt University at Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tennessee on Friday.  Facing a first-day schedule which included four nationally ranked teams, the Terriers concluded the day with a 1-4 record in quint Baker matches.

Maryville University 897, St. Francis Brooklyn 894
The first match of the day started well for the Terriers, who took an early 18 pin lead after a 189 opening game.  Maryville answered back and held a 29 pin lead after game four, despite a 191 in that game by St. Francis.  The Terriers staged a rally in game five, firing a 194, but fell three pins short in the final tally.  Sophomore Kimmi D'Ottavio rolled a clean match.

North Carolina A&T State University 975, St. Francis 880
The Terriers started the second match of the day slowly against the Aggies, with opens in four of the first five frames, and weren't able to recover.  St. Francis did string four consecutive strikes late in the final game en route to a 200 score.  Freshman Victoria Hollywood filled nine of her ten frames during the match.

Louisiana Tech University 1,003, St. Francis 849
The Terriers started the day's middle match with a fine 190 game, but saw the Lady Techsters roll all five games above that number.

St. Francis 904, Lincoln University (Missouri) 691
The Terriers were never threatened in their first win of the tournament, capturing the victory by 213 pins.  St. Francis started the match with a 213 game, and followed that with a clean 199 in game two.  Freshman Heather Waters was clean in all 10 of her frames, and classmate Taylor Waglione filled nine of her ten frames.

The Terriers began the day's final match with a clean 198, and added two more games in the 190's, but the host Commodores eclipsed the 200 mark in all five games of the contest.  Waglione was clean for the Terriers, and Waters filled nine of her 10 frames during the match.
