Women’s Water Polo Travels to Poughkeepsie for Marist Invitational

THE MATCHUPS:
St. Francis Brooklyn vs. Brown
Saturday, February 23, at 3 p.m.
Poughkeepsie, NY
 
In its opening game of the weekend, the St. Francis Brooklyn women's water polo team faces the Brown Bears for the second time this season. Just two weeks ago, the Terriers fell to the Bears, 16-8, at the Bruno Invitational. The Bears are off to a strong start in the 2019 campaign as they are 6-2 through eight contests. 
 
St. Francis Brooklyn vs. La Salle
Saturday, February 23, at 6 p.m.
Poughkeepsie, NY
 
In the second game of the Marist Invitational, the Terriers jump in the pool opposite La Salle. The Terriers face a fellow member of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) for the first time this season outside of conference play. In their last two encounters in 2018, the Terriers took a pair of overwhelming victories with a 9-4 win and 20-3 triumph, respectively. The Explorers are currently 2-10 through the first 12 games of the season. 
 
St. Francis Brooklyn vs. George Washington
Sunday, February 24, at 9:45 a.m.
Poughkeepsie, NY
 
In their last game of Marist Invitational, the Terriers go head-to-head with George Washington. The St. Francis women's water polo team faced the Colonials in the opening tournament of the season. Two weeks ago, the Terriers fell, 13-10, after a tight game in which the Terriers' captain, Kelsey Snelgar, scored six goals. Sunday marks the Terriers' shot at redemption against the Colonials.
 
LAST TIME OUT:
In their previous game, the Terriers fell to Princeton Tigers 14-6. Kelsey Snelgar and Erin Breakey led the Terriers' offense by scoring two goals each, but the team was ultimately unable to overcome the difference as the Tigers continued to build on their early lead and came out victorious.
 
UP NEXT:
The Terriers travel to the West Coast to play in the Pomona Tournament. St. Francis Brooklyn plays a total of four matches out in Claremont, CA, its first will be against Concordia on Saturday, March 2, at 12:30 p.m.
