SANTA CLARA, CA – The St. Francis College Brooklyn men's water polo team opened up the Santa Clara Tournament with an overwhelming victory against Fresno Pacific, 17-9. Although the game seemed to be close in the first half, the Terriers managed to make an insurmountable difference in the second half, wrapping the contest up with an eight-goal advantage.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
St. Francis Brooklyn – 17 | Fresno Pacific – 9

• St. Francis and Fresno Pacific traded goals in the first half and went into the halftime break with the Terriers controlling a 9-7 lead.
• From that moment onward, the Sunbirds were unable to find a response for the Brooklynites' overwhelming offense, thus the difference began steadily increasing.
• By the final buzzer, the Terriers created an eight-goal lead, dominating the opening game of their West Coast Tournament.
• The Terriers' offense was led by Ivan Stefanovic who scored a remarkable seven goals in a single game, while also registering two assists.
• He was closely followed by Dominick Hevesi with four goals and two assists, and Vladimir Mickic with three goals.
• Nikola Nikolic, Ricardo Berenguer, and William Lapkin added the remaining tallies.

The Terriers jump right back in for the second day of the Tournament on Saturday, October 26, to play Cal Baptist at 9 a.m. local time (12 p.m. ET), followed by the second game of the day against Ottawa University Arizona at 1 p.m. local time (4 p.m. ET).
