SOMERSET, NJ – The Northeast Conference (NEC) announced today its entire 2019-20 basketball television schedule, which features a total of three St. Francis College Brooklyn basketball games (two men's, one women's) on either ESPNU or SportsNet New York (SNY).
The Terriers' women's basketball team is set to appear on television first as they host the LIU Sharks in the Battle of Brooklyn, on Wednesday, January 8, at 7 p.m. live on SNY. St. Francis swept LIU in two meetings last season and has won three out of their last four contests against their local rivals.
The men's basketball team is slated to go head-to-head with the LIU Sharks on television twice this season. The first meeting between the local rivals comes from the Pope Physical Education Center in Brooklyn Heights on Wednesday, January 15, at 7 p.m. live on SNY.
The 2020 edition of the Battle of Brooklyn takes place on Tuesday, February 18, at 5 p.m., and will broadcast live on ESPNU. The Terriers swept LIU last season including a 79-70 victory on the road at the Steinberg Wellness Center that aired on ESPN3.
The NEC's return to the regional airwaves after a two-year absence includes distribution on SNY, MASN and AT&T SportsNet (Pittsburgh).
When March hits, ESPN3 will carry the men's semifinals on Saturday, March 7 and the women's semis on Thursday, March 12. As part of the network's Championship Week coverage, the NEC men's title game will be televised by ESPN or ESPN2 for the 33rd straight year on Tuesday, March 10th at 7:00 pm. For the 13th year in a row, ESPNU will air the NEC Women's Championship game. This year's final is scheduled for Sunday, March 15th at 2:00 pm.
Now in his 20th season, Dave Popkin serves as the primary play-by-play announcer on men's broadcasts, with Paul Dottino (21st year) and John Schmeelk (ninth year) filling in. Tim Capstraw (21st year), Terry O'Connor (18th year) and Joe DeSantis (13th year) are slated to split color analyst duties. Dottino serves as the NEC's primary sideline reporter.
Dottino and Craig D'Amico (11th year) will once again handle play-by-play voice on women's telecasts. Pam Roecker is back for her 18th year as color analyst.
PS Wolf Media returns as the packager for CBSSN telecasts, with Eric Singer back in the fold as the longtime producer of NEC basketball. Pack Network will handle production duties for the league's ESPN3/ESPN+ and regional package.
