BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, NY – St. Francis Brooklyn women's basketball head coach, Linda Cimino, has been elected to serve as Chair of the NCAA Women's Basketball Rules Committee for 2018-19. Cimino was appointed to a four-year term on the rules committee in 2016.

During the annual national committee meetings in Indianapolis, IN, Cimino was elected by the 12 voting members of the committee to succeed Brad Duckworth of the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point who finished his term as the chair, and as a committee member on August 31. The NCAA Women's Basketball Rules Committee is a group of 13 members that includes the nonvoting secretary rules-editor, head coaches, directors of athletics, and faculty athletic representatives spanning across all three divisions in the NCAA.

As the national committee chair, Cimino will lead the annual meetings and conference calls, will work closely with the Women's Basketball Coaches' Association (WBCA) Playing Rules and Officiating Group Committee, attend and speak at the Division I, II and III business meetings at the Final Four as well as work closely with Jon Levinson, the secretary-rules editor and Rachel Seewald, the Associate Director of Championships and Alliances at the NCAA.

In her 13 seasons as an intercollegiate head coach and administrator, Cimino has been extensively involved within both the NCAA and WBCA. She has served on the NCAA East Regional Advisory Committees (RAC) for both women's basketball and soccer. Twice, Cimino was an NCAA site representative for regional women's basketball tournaments.

Cimino has also served on the NCAA Division II USA Today Women's Basketball Coaches' Poll Committee and WBCA National Coach of the Year Award Committee. In addition, Cimino was selected to take part in the pilot WBCA Mentoring Program.

Cimino was named the head coach at St. Francis Brooklyn on May 18, 2018, after a successful four-year stint as the head coach at Binghamton University where she was named the 2016 America East Coach of the Year. This past season, her Binghamton program won 20 games, which were the most wins in its Division I history and also competed in its first-ever Division I national postseason tournament.
