Last Time Out: The host St. Francis Brooklyn Terriers continued their hot shooting as they edged the Bryant Bulldogs, 85-80, to win their second consecutive Northeast Conference contest on Saturday afternoon at the Pope Physical Education Center. The Terriers, who are now 7-2 on their home court, improved to 8-12 overall and 5-3 in the NEC.
Junior
Glenn Sanabria continued his torrid marksmanship as the guard scored a team-high 21 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including a 5-for-9 performance from behind the arc. Sanabria, who hit 6-of-9 treys in the win against Mount St. Mary's on Thursday, also added five rebounds and five assists with zero turnovers in 36 minutes. Sophomore guard
Rasheem Dunn contributed 15 points and seven rebounds and senior forward
D.J. Porter (6 rebounds, 5 assists) tied a career-high with 13 points. Freshman guard
Jalen Jordan contributed 12 points and snared a career-best eight caroms.
The Terriers, who shot an even 50 percent (33-of-66) in the contest, survived a late run to hold off the Bulldogs down the stretch. St. Francis Brooklyn looked to have the game in hand after Dunn swished a trey to make it 78-69 with just 3:03 remaining. But Bryant's Hunter Ware converted a layup to cap a 6-0 Bulldogs' run with 1:23 left, shrinking the score to 78-75.
Following a timeout, the hosts were able to grab a pair of offensive rebounds and Sanabria ended up with two foul shots with 38 seconds left. Sanabria converted both attempts to give his team an 80-75 advantage.
Ikenna Ndugba answered with a layup to bring the visitors within 80-77 and then elected to put Dunn on the line with 24 ticks remaining. Dunn calmly swished both attempts to re-store a five-point edge at 82-77.
Adam Grant, who scored a game-high 26 points, then misfired on a 3-pointer with 19 seconds left and Sanabria grabbed the rebound before he was fouled for a one-an-one chance at the line. However, Sanabria missed the front end chance and Grant followed with a triple from the top of the key to bring the Bulldogs within 82-80 with eight seconds left.
Bryant (2-19, 1-7 NEC) elected to foul Dunn with four seconds remaining and the Brooklyn native hit the first but misfired on the second to keep it a one possession game at 83-80.
Fortunately for the Terriers, after the rebound, Dunn came up with a steal and put the game away with a layup at the buzzer.
St. Francis Brooklyn, who led, 44-39 at the break, widened their lead to a game-high 11 points with 15:34 remaining after a jumper by sophomore forward
Milija Cosic.
The Terriers still led by double-digits at 56-46 with 12:31 remaining after Porter nailed a 3-pointer but the Bulldogs were able to keep the game in single-figures for the rest of the way after Ikenna Ndugba's long-range shot at the 12:18 mark.

Jalen Jordan Named NEC Rookie of the Week
St. Francis Brooklyn freshman shooting guard
Jalen Jordan was named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on November 20th. Jordan looks to be the latest in a long line of terrific guards in recent years who have suited up for the Terriers. He poured in 22 points, including a 6-11 afternoon from outside the arc, and added four rebounds and a steal in St. Francis Brooklyn's 77-74 win over Brown in its home opener. He also hit a clutch left-corner trifecta with just over a minute remaining to help secure the victory. He ranks 6th in the NEC with 2.31 3's per game and is 19th in the league at 12.1 ppg.
Jalen Jordan Earns 2nd NEC ROW Award
Jordan's second NEC Rookie of the Week honor (1/22/18) came after the 6'3" guard averaged 14.5 points and 7.5 rebounds per game in St. Francis Brooklyn's 2-0 week. He shot 52.6 percent from the floor, including 50.0 percent from three-point range (5-10), and did not commit a single turnover in 63 minutes of play. Jordan hit 3-5 from distance and finished with 17 points and seven rebounds in Thursday's 81-73 win over the Mount, then came back with 12 points and a career-best eight boards to help lead the Terriers to an 85-80 conquest of Bryant. The wins lifted SFBK to within one game of first place with a 5-3 league mark. Jordan, who hails from Conyers, GA, ranks second among NEC freshman scorers with 12.1 ppg. He's also fourth in the league in free throw percentage (.846), fifth in three-point accuracy (.433) and seventh in made three-pointers (2.25/game).
Glenn Sanabria Named College Sports Madness POW
St. Francis Brooklyn Guard
Glenn Sanabria has been named College Sports Madness NEC Men's Basketball Player of the Week for his exceptional performance during the past week's action. Sanabria averaged 20.5 ppg., 4.0 rpg. and 3.5 apg. in leading St. Francis Brooklyn to a pair of NEC victories last week. The Staten Island native was on fire from behind the arc as he splashed 11-of-18 attempts (.611 percent). The St. Peter's graduate scored 20 points as he drained a career-high six treys to open the week against Mount St. Mary's. Sanabria drilled a long-distance bomb to give St. Francis Brooklyn the lead for good, 51-50, at the 13:40 mark. He also converted both of his free throws with 40 seconds left to help secure the win.
The combo guard then played a tremendous all-around game against Bryant, producing 21 points, five rebounds, five assists and zero turnovers. Again, he converted two clutch free throws with 38 ticks left to help ice the game.
Sanabria leads the NEC with a 2.57 assists/turnover ratio and is 7th in 3-point marksmanship at .421 percent. In NEC contests only, Sanabria is shooting a league-high .545 percent (24-of-44) from behind the arc.
