HOWELL, NEW JERSEY---The 11th-ranked St. Francis College women's bowling team (58-34) was victorious in three of five traditional matches on Saturday at the ECAC Championships, contested at Howell Lanes in Howell, New Jersey.

With a 4,464 total pinfall, the Terriers are in third place of the 11 competing teams, trailing only Vanderbilt University and Fairleigh Dickinson University.  In the individual standings, senior Alexandra Stein finished the traditional portion of the tournament in fourth place with 973 pins, earning her a place on the All-Tournament Team.  Freshman Marissa Gargiulo ranked seventh with 957 pins.

Fairleigh Dickinson 958, St. Francis 923
The day began with the Terriers facing the Knights, who were on their game but had to withstand a St. Francis rally in the final frame which made the final outcome a 35-pin margin.  Stein fired the highest Terrier game of the day with a 233 to lead the team, while freshman Kaitlin Caspar added a 187 score.

St. Francis 892, Long Island University 737
Gargiulo's 221 and Stein's 186 paced the Terriers to their win over the Blackbirds.  The match was close for the first five frames before the Terriers started to pull away to a triple-digit margin.

Saint Peter's 968, St. Francis 848
The Terriers were a little off their game, and the Peahens were nearly flawless.  Gargiulo (193) and Stein (190) were again the high rollers for St. Francis.

St. Francis 932, Adelphi 751
St. Francis bounced back in a big way against the ninth-ranked Panthers.  Gargiulo set the stage with a 223 while Stein scored a 188 and junior Julia Petosa rolled a 186 in her first starting assignment of the day.

St. Francis 869, Kutztown 812
In a match which was much closer than the final score indicated, the Terriers capitalized on a series of open frames by the Golden Bears in the late frames to come away with the victory.  Petosa led St. Francis with a 193 and freshman Kristina Terpo contributed a 180.

On Sunday, all teams will participate in three quad Baker matches before being seeded into playoff brackets based upon total pinfall.  In order to earn their second-straight top-four tournament finish, the Terriers will need to continue their high scoring performance.  The day will begin with the Terriers bowling a "Blind" quad Baker as the odd team out due to the late defection of Coppin State University.  Then St. Francis will face Vanderbilt University and New Jersey City University.
